WHATS NEW! |

PARENTS: The Ranger Band will be hosting a Music
Festival at the Eisemann Center in Richardson on April
9th and 10th. We need parents to serve as hosts along
with the student volunteers. Hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm
on Friday the 9th, and 8:00am to 12:00 noon on the Saturday
the 10th. If you could serve for any length of time
those days we could use your help. Please let Mr. Schnitzer
know your availability by email. Thank You.
Upcoming Events: March and April are busy times
so please check the calendar for your students committments.
- Spring Pre-UIL concert is Thursday, March 11th.
Freshmen and Sophomores please bring a 2-liter soda.
Juniors and Seniors please bring cookies.
- March 26th is the Winter Drumline competition held
at South Grand Prarie High School. Transportation
is provided. Admission is $7 if you wish to attend.
- March 30th is the Pre-UIL Concert and Sight Reading
Contest at Sachse High School. Performances will be
at 3:30 and 4:30. Transportation is provided.
- Tuesday April 6th is the Band Booster Meeting in
the Band Hall. All information on the Band trip to
New Orleans will be discussed at this time. This
is an important meeting to attend.
- April 9th and 10th is the Music Festival. The Ranger
Bands will perform Friday afternoon. Transportation
is provided.
- May 5th is the Percussion Concert. Bring your earplugs
and support our percussion ensemble.
- May 8th is the Annual Band Banquet held at the Holiday
Inn Richardson. This years theme is Mardi Gras! Tickets
to the event will be sold at school. This is the last
opportunity to give our Seniors a rousing send-off.
Congratulations!
The Percussion Ensemble and the Jazz
Band received DIVISION
ONE RATINGS at the Solo & Ensemble Contest
held at North Garland High School. Well Done!
Ranger Band Recycling Program! Does
you inkjet printer eat cartridges faster than a teenage
musician cleans out a fridge? Did you finally get that
new cellphone so you could text your teen? If so, please
remember to send your used inkjet cartridges
and outdated cell phones with your musician to school
to be recycled. There is a drop-off box in
the band hall, and the band does receive proceeds from
your contribution. And best of all, they are recycled
so you can buy them again next year!
WANTED: A FEW GOOD LAPTOPS: We would
like a few laptops for our students to use for individual
practice that utilize software we have available. We
are not looking for top-of-the-line models, more like
corporate 'retiree' models. They can be Mac or PC, with
XP/Vista/MacOSx. If you or your company has some retirees,
the Ranger Band can provide a tax-deductible receipt.
You can send the make and model to Mr. Schnitzer to
see if it meets the software requirements.
The thoughtful, inspiring and 'toe-tapping' music
from the Winter
Concert
has been posted for your listening pleasure. They make
great holiday ringtones too!
The Plano East High School Marching Performance has
been posted for you to view. Wild
Things RULE!
