 The
percussion ensemble is made up of percussionists from all
of the various bands who perform both with the bands and as
a separate entity. (Think of STOMP!) Unlike most other musicians,
percussionists are required to learn a variety of different
instruments including: marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones,
snares, bass drum, field drums, tom-toms, tenors (the one
with 4 drums) and all sorts of various auxiliary equipment.
Last year we even had brake drums!
There will be separate practices just for drumline,
keyboard or percussion ensembles that will be in addition
to the concert band practices. Keep an eye on that calendar!
